Jewelry

Here are a few of the things that I have created.  On a few of the pieces I have found unique pieces in nature or items that are special to me and have created wearable art.  I have given a little information about the significance of some of the stone pieces used here.  As any creative knows, it is an ongoing process.

Two separate necklaces of Moukaite Jasper square beads & Hematite and Onyx compliments

This is my first attempt at wire-wrapping, a challenge to understand the medium and how it can be manipulated.

This is also a special piece to me.  The smaller of the necklaces utilizes a polished stone that was my husbands when he was a child.  The centerpiece is beautiful on its own, but brings a unique focal point to the strands.  I was stoked to find that the moukaite stones complimented the centerpiece so well.  To me, it was as if they were meant to be paired.

Yellow turquoise with large faceted Onyx piece complimented by round and cube Onyx

It is something that I find very cool in that it is has the nature element of the chunky yellow turquoise but then is paired with the finished, faceted piece of Onyx.  The juxtaposition of the different elements was attractive to my eye. Of course, then to be a bit different, the large Onyx is slightly off center adding to the uniqueness of the piece.

Double strand of Sugalite and Olive Jade

I love the way that the purple of the Sugalite is accented by the brightness of the Olive Jade.  The Sugalite caught my attention with the unique patterns of each bead, almost like little planets.  They seemed very cool and I was excited to create something with these.

Two separate necklaces of large wooden bamboo beads accented with camel/dark brown glazed ceramic round beads.  Complimented by small round camel and burnt orange rounds.

This was a fun necklace for me to create.  It was an experiment with the wire and exposing within the necklace design.  The colors are very natural and compliment a variety of outfits.
